Eleanor's quilt

So like I said, I'm not sure about this blog world just yet. I'm hoping to get on here once or twice a week and post something.

I've actually finished two quilts in the last week. The first one was a baby quilt that I think I'll blog about tomorrow (or sometime later when I get around to it). The second one is Random Reflections from the Moda Bake Shop by KarrieLyne.

I loved making this quilt, which was a good thing since I decided on Friday night that I would make it for a dear friend's 70th birthday party on Saturday! Yea, nothing like waiting until the last minute. I was struggling as to what kind of quilt I wanted to make; it had to be quick, stash friendly and perfect for my friend. I remembered Karrie's quilt and knew that I had a few Moda Scrap Bags in my stash. I was lucky that the April Cornell Nature's Notebook fabrics were all more than 2 1/2" wide so I could use them. So, lots of cutting and sewing for the next 20 hours (with a little sleep thrown in) I managed to get all but the binding done in time for the party. I took it anyway and showed it to her; she loved it, said the colors were perfect (happy stash dance) and then took it home to finish up. I delivered the finished quilt just in time for her to take it back to Florida today.

I'm so excited to get started on my next project as well as finish up the pinwheel sampler quilt along I started late and haven't finished.
